Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a habitat to 360 bird species inclusive of 23 out 24 Albertine Rift endemics, Bwindi is also a home to the Shelley’s Crimsoning and African Green Broadbill which are globally threatened. Other Albertine Rift endemics include; Sassi’s Olive Greenbul, Dusky Crimson-wing, Oberlander’s/Forest Ground Thrush Strange Weaver, Rwenzori Nightjar, Rwenzori Double-collared Sunbird, Purple-breasted Sunbird, Regal Sunbird, Blue-headed Sunbird, Rwenzori Batis, Red-faced Woodland Warbler, Short-tailed/Neumann’s Warbler, Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher, Grauer’s Warbler, Grauer’s Rush Warbler, Montane Masked Apalis, Kivu Ground Thrush, Collared Apalis, Red-throated Alethe, Stripe-breasted Tit, Rwenzori Turaco, Handsome Francolin. Itinary in details

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport For Birding Tour

On arrival, our birding guide will pick you up from the airport for the transfer to the hotel and brief you about the 8 Days Africa’s Best Birding Spot Bird Watching Safari. Depending on your arrival time, we bird Entebbe Botanical Gardens or Uganda Wildlife Education Center UWEC.

Day 2: Bird watching transfer to Lake Mburo National Park via Mabamba Swamps for the Shoebill stock search

Early in the morning breakfast, we embark on the bird watching transfer to lake Mburo national park Via Mabamba Swamps for the elusive Shoebill stock and some papyrus endemics like the African and Lesser Jacanas, Blue-breasted bee-Eater, Carruther`s Cisticola, the White-faced and Fulvous Whistling Ducks, The Black-chested, many Gull and Heron Species Brown and western Banded Snake Eagles, and other waterbird species hen after continuing to Lake Mburo National Park for our night stay. We have a short stopover at the Equator for an informative talk, en-route lunch, photography, and the equator line experience.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Birding Enroute Birding Uganda Safari.

We go for the morning Game drive as we bird our way out of Lake Mburo to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. We look out for the Rufous-bellied Heron, White-winged Tit, Red-faced Barbet, White-headed Barbet, Coqui, and the Blue-spotted Wood Dove, Brown Parrot, Red-winged Francolins, Barefaced Go-away bird, Harlequin and Blue Quails, Greenwood Hoopoe, Common Scimitarbill, Common Button Quail, Blue-napped Mousebird, and Shining-blue Kingfishers, Lilac-breasted Roller, African-grey Hornbill, Blue-breasted, the Nubian, Buff-spotted, and the Grey Woodpeckers, Trilling, Stout, Tabora, and Wing-snapping Cisticolas, Brown-eared, Black-bellied Bustard, Red-necked spurfowl, among others.

Day 4: Birding in Uganda at Buhoma

At Buhoma, we lookout for bird species like the Black Bee-Eater, Brown-caped Weaver, Dusky Tit, the Yellow-billed and the African and Black-and-white Shrike Flycatchers, yellow-spotted Barbets, Common Stonechat, Brown-throated and Apalises, Equatorial Akalat, Slaty Flycatcher, Chestnut Wattle-eyes, White-bellied Robin-Chat, Black-throated Apa lis, Chestnut Wattle-eyes, Mountain Masked Apalis, Grey Apalis, Apalis, the Olive-green and Grey-backed Camaropteras, Chestnut-throated, White-chinned Prinnia, Green Hylia, White-tailed Antithrush, Cape Wagtail, Short-tailed Warbler, Grey-capped Warbler, Red-faced Woodland Warbler, Grauer’s Warbler, Black-faced Rufous Warbler, Grauer’s Rush Warbler, White-browed Crombec, Mountain Masked Apalis, the list is long.

Day 5: Ruhija Classic Birds Tour in Uganda Bird-watching

Today we bird Ruhija sector in search of the darling Handsome Francolin, Strange Weaver, African Green Broadbill, Shelley’s and Dusky Crimson-wings, Rwenzori Batis, White-browed Crombec, Stripe-breasted Tit, White-naped Raven, Sharp’s Starling, Mountain masked and Rwenzori Apalises, Purple-breasted Sunbird, and many more.

Day 6: Birding Mubwindi- Uganda Birding Safari

Whole day birding Mubwindi Swamp we look out for the Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher, White-tailed Blue Flycatcher, Black-billed Weaver, Black-necked Weaver, Brown-capped warbler, Red-headed Malimbe, Waller’s Starling, Stuhlmann’s starling, Grey-headed During Sparrow, Montane Oriole, many-colored Bush-Shrike, During Brown-crowned Tchagra During, Pink-footed Puffback, Bocage’s Bush-Shrike, Doherty`s Bush-shrike, Mountain Illadopsis, Luther’s Bush-Shrike, Rwenzori Nightjar.
